We have slid so far down one particular ‘Slippery Slope,’ I am not sure how far back I need to go, to tell this American tale of half-truths, and sneaky deceptions. The bottom line is that thee n e m y within knows something about most Americans that Americans most likely do not realize. Do you want the red pill; or do you want the blue pill? If I am reading the mood of America accurately, she wants the red pill, even if we scream like little girls all the way home.

Sadly, right now, the e n e m y within knows that if you scare Americans with a well-defined half-truth, you can get them to hide in their homes for a few months. While hiding in their homes, it never occurs to them that they are in prison – listening to their Mainstream Media F a k e news. A few of our 350 million citizens understood; but no one was listening to what 3 million of us were saying.

My tale starts where this phenomenon begins, with my cigarette smoking. I am not going to tell you that you should pick up the habit, but I am also going to call a ‘Spade a Spade.’ Many years ago, I was on a 3-man team to computerize a hospital. As the Personnel Director, I attended weekly staff meetings. For me, doctors came way down from their lofty pedestals. The statement “practicing medicine” made more sense. In the early years of searching the internet, an associate helped me find what I was looking for – the lung cancer stats for cities all over the U.S. I am not saying he hacked his way to the information, because I was not tech savvy enough to know that. The information revealed that lung cancer was found equally in those who did and did not smoke. I further found that the significant largest numbers of lung cancer patients were near industrial pollution – across the nation.

Fancy that! This revelation was huge. I shared it with friends over lunches and happy hours after work. All agreed that we should have guessed. My friends who stopped smoking to please other people bummed so many cigarettes off me that following year, I saw the hypocrisy first-hand. I started carrying an extra pack of cigarettes for my family and friends that quit. Happy hour drinks, and cigarettes go together; just ask anyone who frequented clubs after work for official “business networking.” Time passed, life happened, and I lost track of my hand-written notes, as well as the web sites I had obtained the information from. Years later I have tried to find the information again, but every trace has been scrubbed. Hello big, cheating government.

Fast forward a few decades. I had no signs that the cigarette smoking was affecting my health; perhaps this is because I have always stuck with a pack a day (even now), while my parents and others who were still smoking had progressed on to 3 and 4 packs a day. Never-the-less, doctors would bring it up at every opportunity. If my toes hurt, if I had tummy troubles, if my back pain changed in any way, if I gained weight, if I lost weight, if my muscles were sore, if my joints hurt, if I had a breast lump, if I walked funny – all caused by cigarette smoking.

I was not going to take it anymore. I was much more computer savvy than prior decades. I thought, and thought, and thought (also caused by cigarette smoking) about the information to explain why I could not quit without becoming extremely ill, and where I could find it. Then it came to me. “SURGEON GENERAL’S WARNING: Cigarette Smoke Contains Carbon Monoxide.” I searched the internet for ‘the government report on Cigarette Smoking’ – the one we have heard about for decades. Much to my surprise, I found it! It took me a week to find what I was looking for because reading it put me to sleep within 30 minutes!

I found the section dealing with older women and addiction. Long story short:
– because I am a female;
– because I am over 60 years old;
– because I have incorporated smoking into my pain management / coping skills;
– because I am addicted;
the report said I do not have a chance of quitting.

I also deduced from what the report did not say, that there is no actual proof that second hand smoke can cause lung cancer in another human.
If the other human has asthma, or bronchitis it can aggravate it.

Cigarette smoking is the Slippery Slope that opened the door to our Federal Government dictating, with incrementally more and more power over how Americans can run their businesses. For me, this was the pivotal first step that has led to our out of control government. I see Trump as trying to give our freedom back to us, and those who oppose him wanting to keep us on our path to Communism via Socialism.

It is my late husband’s birthday today. In his honor, I will be a smart-ass, since he was not only a Marine, but was King OF the Smart-asses!! Today, however, know that this is also 100% truthful.

I want to defund all College Professors, and disband them immediately. MY CASE:I had the only World History professor that was teaching this class. It was a 3-hour class, 3 nights a week.She gave a lengthy list of books to read. She lectured the entire 3 hours of each class. Our grade would be one examination based on the books we were to read, and all the information she lectured on. This would be cruel and horrific enough, but her lecture voice was all one monotonous tone, and not loud enough for the entire class to hear it. Lucky people who did not have to feed children before class got a prized seat in the back. SO, I HEREBY DECREE WE WILL PAINT ALL PROFESSORS WITH THIS ONE BRUSH AND DEFUND EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!

I want to defund all waiters, waitresses, and store cashiers. On average, over my 50+ years’ experience eating out and shopping, I have had too many who were rude, and behaved like they were doing me some huge favor. I will admit that John and I wearing official ‘Border Control’ hats to brunch one Saturday morning to an out of the way branch of one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants was not a nice thing to do. Snicker, Snicker, but it was so funny. We sat there for a good 15 minutes while they found someone who spoke English to wait on us, and to bus our table. For the 2 hours we were there those two people waited on and bussed all tables. One more Snicker should do it here. BUAHAHAHAHAHA But, I digress. SO, I HEREBY DECREE THAT ALL WAITERS, WAITRESSES, AND STORE CASHIERS ARE DEFUNDED!

There was that hairdresser that cut a foot off my hair with her first snip. What part of, ‘I only want the ends trimmed,’ did she not understand? Her crying wasn’t enough – it DID NOT PUT MY HAIR BACK!!!!!SO, I HEREBY DERCREE THAT ALL HAIR DRESSERS ARE DEFUNDED!

There was the new U S Home I purchased, where my children and I like to have froze to death a few nights because they, “forgot to install the heater in the attic” when the duct-work and A/C was installed . . . DEFUND ALL HOME BUILDERS!There were the bones in my McDonalds Fish Sandwich . . . DEFUND ALL FAST FOOD JOINTS!

Next I thought of murdering dictators, and the list is too long of those they murdered to list here – DEFUND ALL DICTATORS!

If you do not get my sarcastic point, then you might want to have your brain included in your next annual health screening. If we, as a Republic, go down this slippery slope, will your profession be next? Even though you are an excellent person who does your job with integrity, could you be lumped in with the few who do not care about the integrity of your profession?

It would not serve the public well to get rid of 95% great and needed policemen and policewomen. Please do not get sucked into the group thinking of the far left who would disband thousands upon thousands of great men and women who make up the police departments in every city across our great nation.

I am hereby endeavoring to warn the wicked to turn from this horrific endeavor to persecute innocent men and women who are good police officers. Do not defund them and disband them. Our nation needs them to help us in all natures of safety endeavors on our behalf as citizens.

My son lost another friend to suicide, another Gen X child. I know these adults believe their physical or mental pain is unbearable. Perhaps they did not understand the depths of despair they leave behind for every family member and friend. Nor did they understand this act is a departure of and failure of their faith. I wish I had an opportunity to talk to them.

In large part I blame the school systems for teaching a proven lie, named evolution. According to evolution humans are created accidentally out of pond scum that evolved into apes, and then evolved into you and I. What a deplorable lie. We know from many things that we are created beings, not the least of which is the digital code of our DNA.

To accept that we are created, one must repent of their sins, and endeavor to live turning from sin. But the alternative is not taught in schools, and we can all blame ourselves for this. If they were taught that they were deliberately, “fearfully, and wonderfully made” they would feel special, and loved by The Lord that created them. Taking their own lives means they had no solid belief that God had a special plan for their lives.

I also blame the families who stopped going to their churches of their youth, when their churches were taken over by evil purpose. Some turned away because they did not have the drive to do anything about the casualness of sin in the 21^st century. Turning from sin is easier than many believe. Once I accepted the gospel regarding Jesus Christ, a change happened in me. I feel the Lord 24/7/365 inside of me. I talk to Him all the time, not only when life gets a bit too much for me to deal with.

My faith is strong and steady. I know that The Lord created me. The Bible speaks of The Lord knowing you before you were in your mother’s womb. He created you and knows you. He loves you and wants you to come to Him of your own free will.

Consider these verses:

Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

“Psalm 139:13-14 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

“Isaiah 44:24 (KJV) Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;”

“Galatians 1:15 (KJV) But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,”

“Ephesians 1:4 (KJV) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”

The Lord wants you to come to Him of your own volition. You have a choice yes or no – no gray areas – no maybes. The World tries to woo you to foil God’s plans for you.

“Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The Lord also expects you to live by faith, and to know He exists based solely on the magnitude of His Creation. The Bible says there will be no excuses good enough for not knowing He is your Creator.

It is not too late to come to The Lord.
It is not too late to help your adult children back to Christ.
It is not too late to change what our children are being taught in school.
It is not too late to recover your church from un-Biblical forces.
It is not too late to turn America back on a Godly path.
It is not too late to become a teacher in your church.
It is not too late to run for political office for one or two turns as your civic duty; setting an example.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO TALK TO THE YOUNG FOLKS IN OUR REPUBLIC, TELLING THEM THAT THEY ARE BEAUTIFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE, AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM YOU CANNOT HELP THEM WITH. Maybe we can stop the suicides.

Today’s quote is from Lisa Bender, Minnesota City Council President.

“Over last two weeks we’ve seen thousands of people in Minnesota take to the streets and raise their voices for change, telling us that incremental reform has not worked to keep our communities safe. We are also seeing major institutions like the University of Minnesota, our parks and schools, major business, and art institutions ending their relationship with our police department. So, it is clear that we need to make major shifts both in the short term and [abruptly ended that thought]. Our community is ready to reimagine public safety from the ground up to then holistically – to make sure every single member of our community is safe.”

WOW This statement is filled with so many Rhetorical Devices, where do I begin? . . .

This statement suffers from “Proof Surrogate Fallacy” Rhetoric; an expression in place of actual authority. The actual authority lies with the entire community of citizens, not just the ones protesting. Protesters cannot speak for those citizens not present – the actual majority. Should any City Council make major changes without the support of the citizen majority, they will find themselves soon out of a job – and rightly so.

Let us look at what does “incremental reform” mean? I borrowed this example from another industry and changed it to reflect Policing Systems Reform:

Incremental Reforms of the Local Policing System should be offered only within the context of steps toward larger reform goals, so that the local citizen can evaluate the final destination as well as the individual steps.

Preferably, these specific reforms should be discussed as part of a sorely needed local televised debate (beginning early afternoon) about the basic features of the Local Policing Systems (the current system, and any future models proposed to replace current system), which the local city should deliver in stages. Indeed, public understanding of the merits of rival proposals is hardly possible without such an open debate on the fundamentals. Whatever structural reforms we achieve should not be the haphazard result of disconnected incremental actions, nor should they be the undisclosed objectives of step-by-step reforms.

Most incremental reforms under discussion would move the Local Policing System in one of three broad discussion topics:

The first topic of reform would expand on the current system, with varying degrees of changes and, with detailed presentation of alternate proposed future systems.

In the second comparative topic of reform, local government would determine the cost of the current proposed changes to existing system, as well as the cost of alternate proposed systems.

The third topic of reform would involve local policing service to businesses, schools, parks, malls, etc. – full disclosure of current and proposed services including cost analysis.

I like the Incremental Reform Plan which incorporates every citizen involvement as are interested in being involved. I would love to see someone like me organize it – just not me, someone much healthier.

Common Practice Fallacy argument – just because some historically liberally run organizations are doing something, does not mean the majority are doing it.

Hyperbole Fallacy, better known as B S.

Clear to who? This small subset of all citizens should never make such a leap without somewhere to leap to AND with the consensus of all citizens. Public debate, then voting should happen.

“Our community is ready to reimagine public safety from the ground up to then holistically – to make sure every single member of our community is safe.”

We have a Line Drawing Fallacy at play; a dash of Subjectivism Fallacy, as well as Argument From Outrage Fallacy; working on a possible Straw Man Fallacy; a Wishful Thinking, and Group Think Fallacies;
not to mention that this whole thing is a huge SLIPPERY SLOPE FALLACY!

If you let a handful of people disband your law and order AND REPLACE IT WITH THEIR POLITICAL CRONIES ONLY – I cannot imagine anything they would deny themselves afterwards. Yes, this is a huge SLIPPERY SLOPE FALLACY!

This statement ends in a promise that she cannot possibly keep – Rationalizing Fallacy – appealing to that Group Think Fallacy.

When I was young, I fell in love with a hymn that has stuck with me in my top ten favorite songs for about 60 years. I remember singing “Let There Be Peace On Earth” in church. I remember it being sung at Woodstock. Harry Connick, Jr., and Vince Gill are among the many star singers who have sung it. The lyrics that America would benefit to remember are at the end of this commentary. The lines I wish to share are: “With God as our Father; brothers all are we. Let me walk with my brother, in perfect harmony.”

Baby Boomers loving and learning such songs in our youth, it is no wonder that we expressed a love of all people to our children and demonstrated the same in our careers. My children did not have a racist bone in their bodies.

I have lived in six different states: Texas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, and Illinois. Even though Illinois did not show the instant friendliness I was used to in the south, the racial issues was almost non-existent for my children, and for myself in all six states. Our President is man of his words. Unlike other Presidents, he has kept his campaign promises, and has been a successful champion of all minorities. My family is very alarmed at what we are seeing played out in the news by only a few of our 360 million citizens.

Our President is being persecuted by the D S for turning our Republic around to being a nation by and for the people again. I barely can explain to my grandchildren the evil lies and deeds that have happened in our nation in past administrations IN THE NAME OF AMERICA. Having been raised to treat all people good, and have proven themselves to be good adults, they do not deserve for their Republic to fall apart.

PLEASE JOIN ME IN PRAYER FOR OUR REPUBLIC, IT’S CITIZENS, AND IT’S PRESIDENT.

I would like to call attention to Acts of the Apostles, the last chapter, as spoken to the Gentiles regarding the truthfulness of the Gospel regarding Christ, which reminds me of Americans in this modern time regarding truth.

“ACTS 28:26-27
Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”

I would like to give you information regarding the truth of two issues. The first is in regards as to why Judge Sullivan would continue to keep the General Flynn case going – even though he knows his actions are un-constitutional. He is falling on his sword to keep General Flynn from talking much truth. The Supreme Court ruled against what Judge Sullivan has done and will rule against it again. So why is he doing it? If the case has not yet been dismissed, General Flynn is still under a gag order. As soon as the case is finally dismissed General Flynn will start talking BIG TIME! That is why Judge Sullivan is ruining his career and reputation – because the liberal left has most likely threatened him, to gain his compliance with their agenda. President Obama, among others, has much to lose when General Flynn is able to speak.

And speaking of agenda:
The second lie is regarding the black male in America and the police – does history support the BLM rhetoric? NO.
Here are figures you can easily look up for yourself:

FOLLOW THE FACTS TO THE BOTTOM.
America’s population is about 630 million.
18% of America’s population is Black.
60% of America’s population (less White Hispanic) is White.
2019 Black killed by police = 235; White killed by police = 370. (Most killed
were armed – both races.)
2018 Black killed by police = 209; White Killed by police = 399. (Ditto.)

2017 Black killed by police = 223; White killed by police = 457. (Ditto.)
Over 50% of violent crimes are committed by Black race. (6% of Black
population are men and do most of these violent crimes and
therefore most likely to have run-ins with police.)
NEW YORK CITY – Blacks do 75% of shootings, and 62% of all murders;
Whites do 3% of all murders.
Major corporations and government officials are supporting Black Lives
Matter.
94% of BLACK MEN MURDERED ARE MURDERED BY OTHER BLACK

No sooner than I started writing again, I became KO’d by some predictable medical crap, and then a monumental heartbreak which has had a choke hold on my writing. Then I discovered something for the umpteenth time, the best way through it is to express it.

First, and least important, I hit one of my slumps in kicking the butts of my 5 degenerative diseases. RA seems to only come second to Degenerative Spine disease. The nature of my diseases does not lend itself to striking out to be a social butterfly and making new friends. My late husband instilled one idea in me that stuck – “It is what it is.” Life goes on, and I endeavor to concentrate on the many blessings I am thankful for.

Second, and of supreme importance, a favorite family member took his life a few days ago. My heart breaks for his Mamma, for we are not wanting to outlive our children. I cannot imagine the size of her grief. I usually have no trouble talking, but I have no words compassionate enough. I cannot possibly know how she feels for it has not happened to me. She lost her husband, who was my brother Rudy, a little over a year ago; and this feels too close to process.

A year before I lost my brother, I lost my John. I know how this is tragically too close. Shortly after losing John, my oldest attempted suicide. I am not desensitized. I am absolutely the opposite of that. I just keep losing people, and the pain is almost unbearable.

In my family, and extended family, over several years, have been four Generation X suicides, and the one attempted suicide. Most left behind young children, and family who are still struggling to understand. Those who do not leave a note behind generate a particularly perplexing brand of heartache. I seem to not only mourn the current loss, but mourn the cumulative loss of the five young (to me) family members each time . . . and I have been searching for the why of it.

Generation X has some unique statistics which may explain why these beloved family members would choose to check out before their lives had a chance to blossom in many ways. They will never gain the perspective we gain when raising a family through to adulthood, seeing a career through to retirement, and the safe and secure feeling one has with a spouse of 20, 30, and even 40 or more years.

Statistics show that Generation X is the first generation since the Civil War to not do better financially, or in status to the community as the generation before – Baby Boomers. Whatever we Baby Boomers have that made us so dynamic has skipped a generation and is showing up in the Millennials (Gen. Y). Today, tech empires hire people 30 years old and younger, skipping Generation X. No one is willing to commit as to the reason for this, except to say that there is an air of despair in so many Generation X.

It is my opinion that like so many severe government budget cuts that affected Generation X’s education, they instinctively know that it will be their generation to pay into Social Security, but never receive a dime of it back. No one knows this for sure, but they know how to add and subtract, and read the writing on the wall. Eventually some generation will have to take one for the team. But the Generation X team have not been merry savers. Many will never retire, but work until they are incredibly old.

Being full of opinion today, I think it is also about excuses. Baby Boomers were excessively disciplined by The Greatest Generation. After all, the Greatest Generation lived through the depression and WWII (as we were reminded of frequently). We Baby Boomers may have let our offspring off the hook for bad behavior by demonstrably loving them, NO MATTER WHAT. By the time they figured out how flawed their parents were, they did what we always let them do – make excuses, therefore it will always be our fault. I am speaking of myself directly and any other Baby Boomers who loved their children no more or less than my parents or grandparents ~ the difference is that the Greatest Generation perhaps were more constructive disciplinarians than their children would be.

I searched the scriptures for help, and decided with Proverb 18, that The Lord understands the dilemma of my heart ache. “Proverb 18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?” If our spirit is grounded in Christ, we will survive the emotional losses; but if we are not grounded in Christ, our grief is unbearable. So be it, I choose Christ every time.

I then searched the scriptures to lift my spirit and found none better suited for redirection, and to the enormity of my heart ache than my favorite:

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again, I say, Rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Calling all Christians to step back and see what is really happening. Use your powers of reasoning and deduction. Start asking the right questions in a large voice that you have together. If Christians would stand together as a group, you would see that there is no larger voice in this country.

Speaking of the largest voice in America, where is our Christian Lobby in Congress? If Christians had not divided and sub-divided The Body of Christ, The Church, we would have known to have our presence in everything American, including the government. If we are not there, one guess of who is.

The enemy within is expending every attack on us that they can think of. They were sloppy because they thought they would retain the power; they are now sloppy because they are desperate. We ask honest questions and lies intermingled with some truth is what we always receive in return. Jesus commands that we be not deceived; and it takes some prayer, digging and inspection to arrive at the truth. There are so many on the internet trying to get the truth out. My favorites are “And We Know” and “X22 Report (6 nights a week, two reports, “a” and “b”). The Epoch Times is a great newspaper – digital and print.

Look at what the enemy within has tried:

Upon honest prayer, digging, and inspection you will find the truth ~ but do not be too long about it. Millions have done their homework, and already know the truth. For truth to prevail, the masses must look for it ~ NOW.

Here are good questions regarding the most recent False Flag ~ RaceWargate:
What is the motive of this murder? (Stealing the upcoming election?)
What is happening to our country because of it? (Total chaos? Financial ruin for many? Keeping the cities in lockdown?)
Who stands to gain from what is happening? (Evil?)
Why has Antifa, or a group that behaves like Antifa, intervened and stolen the day (and nights) from those marching in remembrance of the victim? (Keep you glued to MSM? **Inciting many to HATE?)

The institution of marriage may be the future success story America needs to turn our population back on the path that rescues the happy family. Even though the statistics say that America has a 40% to 50% divorce rate (depending on which statistics you look at), I believe it is possible for this to greatly improve. When I finally got it right after several failures, people whom I knew from casually to people I knew closely wanted to know John’s and my secret to the perfect marriage. We had something others wanted. I am not sure exactly what others believed about how we achieved this desirable relationship.

The surprise is that we never worked at our marriage. The following things came naturally and could be easily seen:
~ Equally yoked: Respect, Love, Romance, Intellect, Education, Values, and Morals.
~ Equal givers – Neither of us had ever been married to a giver until we married. We were happy givers.
~ The “Crystal Ball Pact” – Neither of us had a crystal ball, nor could we read each other’s mind. We made a pact that if we wanted something, or some romantic event, we would simply tell each other our daily heart’s desires.
~ In 23 years neither of us ran out of things to talk about because we genuinely liked each other.
~ We each had separate interests we could pursue at home.
~ We each included the other in pursuing interests outside the home.
~ We were best friends.
~ We fell in love almost instantly; so that throws out the necessity for long courtship before marriage. We courted throughout our marriage – like a habit we both loved – dating and courtship.
~ THE MOST IMPORTANT: We took the marriage scriptures in The Holy Bible to heart. God made us different for a reason, and we each enjoyed our differences. No ship can have two Captains. John was the head of our family, and he consulted with me on every issue of importance. Others said that was okay because she got her heart’s desires . . . AND SO DID HE.

RHETORICAL DEVICES WEDNESDAY ~ MAY 20, 2020

Today we will explore a Rhetorical Device used to make an extravagant overstatement. Such an overstatement is called HYPERBOLE. Sadly, most assume that such a bold statement is a true statement and is more than likely not true. HYPERBOLE is used to affect the emotions of the reader in extremes.

Today’s article clip is from the New York Times article, “Child Vaccinations Plummet 63 Percent, a New Hurdle for N.Y.C. Schools,” By Eliza Shapiro. She is accurately reporting what New York’s Mayor DeBlasio said. It is Mr. DeBlasio who is using HYPERBOLE to instill fear into parents: “The pieces unfortunately start to fit together in a way that should cause parents real concern,” Mr. DeBlasio said in his daily news briefing. Unvaccinated children, he said, could be “at greater threat of contracting a disease that could then put them at a greater threat of contracting Covid.”

To quote N Y Governor Cuomo, in a separate article, “Thankfully, this new syndrome is still quite rare and it is treatable, and most kids who develop it fully recover.” New York state has a population of almost 20 million; 1.7 million are children seventeen and under. The article stated there have only been about 102 cases. This article can be found https://nyti.ms/3cKC7GQ This article is very exhaustive in information regarding this new syndrome that doctors believe might be attributable to the Covid virus. In this article I found no reference of the regular school vaccinations helping children to not contract the Covid virus. Mayor DeBlasio stating otherwise is irresponsible; and one can only conclude he either does not know what he is talking about, or he was using it as HYPERBOLE to instill fear.

There are about 50 types of Rhetorical Devices that authors use much too often as persuasive deceit. Rhetoric persuades rather than prove logically, and factually. Some similar devices to Hyperbole, and in today’s example some are synonymous:
~Slippery Slope – Arguing that because x happens, then y and/or z will also happen.
~Proof Surrogate – Expression in place of actual evidence or authority.
~Scare Tactics – Frightening scenario instead of facts to persuade someone to see it your way.
~Loaded Question – Question that rests on one or more unwarranted or unjustified assumptions.
~Appeal to Ignorance – Lack of evidence against a claim doesn’t mean the claim gets any positive points.

It is very important to become familiar with these devices so you can recognize them when they are used to fool you in some way.
