IT IS RHETORICAL DEVICE WEDNESDAY June 10, 2020

TEXAS LADY JUANITA

Today’s quote is from Lisa Bender, Minnesota City Council President.

“Over last two weeks we’ve seen thousands of people in Minnesota take to the streets and raise their voices for change, telling us that incremental reform has not worked to keep our communities safe. We are also seeing major institutions like the University of Minnesota, our parks and schools, major business, and art institutions ending their relationship with our police department. So, it is clear that we need to make major shifts both in the short term and [abruptly ended that thought]. Our community is ready to reimagine public safety from the ground up to then holistically – to make sure every single member of our community is safe.”

WOW This statement is filled with so many Rhetorical Devices, where do I begin?  . . .

“Over last two weeks we’ve seen thousands of people in Minnesota take to the streets and raise their voices for change, telling us that incremental reform has not worked to keep our communities safe.”

This statement suffers from “Proof Surrogate Fallacy” Rhetoric; an expression in place of actual authority. The actual authority lies with the entire community of citizens, not just the ones protesting. Protesters cannot speak for those citizens not present – the actual majority. Should any City Council make major changes without the support of the citizen majority, they will find themselves soon out of a job – and rightly so.

Let us look at what does “incremental reform” mean? I borrowed this example from another industry and changed it to reflect Policing Systems Reform:

Incremental Reforms of the Local Policing System should be offered only within the context of steps toward larger reform goals, so that the local citizen can evaluate the final destination as well as the individual steps.

Preferably, these specific reforms should be discussed as part of a sorely needed local televised debate (beginning early afternoon) about the basic features of the Local Policing Systems (the current system, and any future models proposed to replace current system), which the local city should deliver in stages. Indeed, public understanding of the merits of rival proposals is hardly possible without such an open debate on the fundamentals. Whatever structural reforms we achieve should not be the haphazard result of disconnected incremental actions, nor should they be the undisclosed objectives of step-by-step reforms.

Most incremental reforms under discussion would move the Local Policing System in one of three broad discussion topics:

The first topic of reform would expand on the current system, with varying degrees of changes and, with detailed presentation of alternate proposed future systems.

In the second comparative topic of reform, local government would determine the cost of the current proposed changes to existing system, as well as the cost of alternate proposed systems.

The third topic of reform would involve local policing service to businesses, schools, parks, malls, etc. – full disclosure of current and proposed services including cost analysis.

I like the Incremental Reform Plan which incorporates every citizen involvement as are interested in being involved. I would love to see someone like me organize it – just not me, someone much healthier.

“We are also seeing major institutions like the University of Minnesota, our parks and schools, major business, and art institutions ending their relationship with our police department.”

Common Practice Fallacy argument – just because some historically liberally run organizations are doing something, does not mean the majority are doing it.

“So it is clear that we need to make major shifts both in the short term and [abruptly ended that thought].”

Hyperbole Fallacy, better known as B S.

Clear to who? This small subset of all citizens should never make such a leap without somewhere to leap to AND with the consensus of all citizens. Public debate, then voting should happen.

“Our community is ready to reimagine public safety from the ground up to then holistically – to make sure every single member of our community is safe.”

We have a Line Drawing Fallacy at play; a dash of Subjectivism Fallacy, as well as Argument From Outrage Fallacy; working on a possible Straw Man Fallacy; a Wishful Thinking, and Group Think Fallacies;
not to mention that this whole thing is a huge SLIPPERY SLOPE FALLACY!

If you let a handful of people disband your law and order AND REPLACE IT WITH THEIR POLITICAL CRONIES ONLY – I cannot imagine anything they would deny themselves afterwards. Yes, this is a huge SLIPPERY SLOPE FALLACY!

This statement ends in a promise that she cannot possibly keep – Rationalizing Fallacy – appealing to that Group Think Fallacy.

Lisa Bender, Minnesota City Council President.

This is an out of control City Council President – YO! Citizens! You may want to put her on some kind of probation and shorten her authority leash from “Dictator” down to “Public Servant”.

ARE YOU A LEADER IN HIDING?

Are we proud of ourselves? The Christian population, by the millions, showed up to vote for President Trump. Many had not bothered to vote in the prior two Presidential elections. The comparative volume of people who voted for Trump is most likely larger than any of us realize. We not only overcame those who voted for Clinton but overcame the vast numbers of illegal aliens who voted, and the tampering with voting machines done by those who deal in political “insurance policies.” If you adjust for all these illegal shenanigans, Trump would have won by a popular vote landslide. I have read enough from all sides to know this is true. (I.e. If you have 5,000 eligible voters, and 8,000 votes are cast – all for her – the computers have been tampered with.)

Parts of the Bible are written for the Jew, and parts are written for the Christian, but all is written for our learning and understanding. When I write, it is for the Christian majority; but similarly, all are welcome to glean what they may. So, here goes . . . Many Christians have expressed their disappointment in not having the obvious landslide we feel we earned. Let us delve a little deeper as to why.

Many are looking to modern-day prophets for answers. I look to The Bible and my Lord and Savior, Jesus for answers. I take it to prayer and ask for the answers I seek. Prophecy comes from what we see in all the scriptures, for PROPHECY IS PATTERN. To quote my favorite Bible Commentator, Dr. Chuck Missler, there are “66 books by 40 authors and we now find that it (the Bible) is an integrated message system from outside our time domain.” The only way to explain the miracle of the multitude of cross references throughout the Bible, and the consistency of pattern, is that the Holy Spirit is the author manifested through the 40 writers. One must read it and study it to understand the wisdom. My Mamma understood this when she gave me my first Bible. She wrote, “read it with love and love it.”

You may be asking me what does this have to do with our election of Trump? The knowledge in The Bible is the roadmap for our lives, and the gift of our salvation. We each need a clear vision of this roadmap to be successful in every aspect of our lives. After millions of American Christians voted for Trump, what did they do next? Was it appropriate to receive the landslide we had prayed for? Let us look at some appropriate questions for American Christians:

1. As a Christian, are you doing all you can do for your country; or do you expect others to magically
do all you believe should be done?
2. Voter fraud of several types happened, coast to coast. Did you say something when you saw it? Did
you demand an investigation?
3. Did you volunteer to help a Christian of shared beliefs / ideals run for office?
4. Did you, as a Christian, run for local, state, or federal office?
5. As a Christian, have you bonded with like-minded adults to improve your school system for
Christian children?
6. WE CANNOT LEAVE OUR CHRISTIANITY AT THE DOOR TO WORK, SCHOOL, OR PLAY. Did you speak
up at your church for Christian Conservative folks running for office?
7. Did you think “MAGA” (Make America Great Again) is something Trump (in the viper’s nest of
Washington) was going to accomplish for you?
8. Last year a young man, in a public place, had his red MAGA hat snatched off his head by a rude
and evil behaving grown man. What kind of America is this that every adult of all political parties
did not put a stop to such behavior on the spot, and hold the man until the police arrived?

“Making America Great Again” without an American Christian Spiritual Awakening in the 80% who claim to be Christian, IS NOTHING. When Christians are absent from the process of Public Service (everyone we vote for, and those they appoint), SATAN WILL FILL THE VOID and win the hearts and minds of our young, and older milk / lukewarm Christians.

Matthew 12:25 KJV And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”

Matthew 12:30 KJV [Jesus said,] “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.”

The exposure of the enemies within is about to get real in America. The White Hats have been preparing America for what is about to be exposed. We are about to once again become the America of good example for the world to follow – UNLESS – we continue to allow the enemies within to divide us. The whole world is watching us and will follow our lead. We will lead for good or for evil, only time will tell the continuing story of America Great Again, or NOT. It is up to you and me.

Take a deep cleansing breath; decide where you will begin or resume Bible study with family and friends; decide to worship Jesus and no other; come into the light and be the leader you know you can be – in your family, community, state, and nation.

Thank you Lord for these words.
I pray there are more to come, and I can resume regular writing.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, WE THE PEOPLE — THE TAIL IS STILL WAGGING THE DOG!

In the two prior elections, 50% of Christian America sat on their collective rears, and made a huge difference in electing Obama to office by way of not voting. Having learned something of value, the pulpit activated itself and its flock.  Christian America got out, voted, and made a huge difference in electing Trump to office. Post-election, Americans have gone back to the daily song of their lives.
Trump, surrounded by the enemy in Washington, has been abandoned by most of his Christian base; therefore, he is not conquering our conservative checklist of issues each day, and not claiming victories for us. As I keep saying, only Americans can make America great again. Trump never said he could do it without our help.

WHY?
BECAUSE THE TAIL IS STILL WAGGING THE DOG.

As a conservative group of Americans, we are numbered in the tens of millions. If we had the foresight, planning on all levels of community, and fortitude of our political foes, each of our voices would be heard on a daily basis (peacefully), and then politicians would be lining up to support us and our issues. We cannot send a few good men to the evil swamp of Washington politics, without our help, and expect results good for us, our families, our employers, and America in general. When we go to political dormancy, we are consequently leaving those we sent to Washington to flounder. Because we have been silent for so long, it will take tens of millions of Christians speaking up daily to be taken seriously. We still have our First Amendment Rights – barely.

The gay caucus has the dog wagging the tail. The reason you have gay people on television 24/7/365 is because they are verbal, and make sure their message is out there every day, frankly being crammed down our throats. I have no problem with gay people having the same rights as I have; my problem is that they are disproportionately seen everywhere on the boob tube, the radio, and in the commercials for hundreds of industries we shop with every day.

THIS PHENOMENON POSES THIS QUESTION:
WHY ARE CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS NOT ORGANIZED, EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR.

Why are we not organized as The Body of Christ, in such large numbers, that the politicians would be following us around trying to please us in our schools, employment, entertainment, and even in our churches. Most of the churches I have visited in the last 35 years, were full of old people. As parents and grandparents, we must do a better job of activating our Christian offspring! Christians, as a huge group, can not only better our lives here in America, but rescue the persecuted Christians, Jews, and so many others all over the world.

At the end of the day, Christians will only affect the medias, our schools, our workplaces, and the family when we have a PR department equal to or greater than those active on the left. Visibility is the key to having this dog wagging its own tail. When a Christian majority speaks as a unit, we will be the largest group in America, and served by our government again.

My heart, mind, and soul sees the possibility of America’s Body of Christ living peacefully together, and being a light for the world as an example again with such wisdom to guide us as Proverbs Three below. It is written beautifully. I have read that The Hebrew, The Greek Septuagint that Jesus quoted from, and The King James Bibles were all deliberately written as beautiful prose. My heart sings when I read the King James. If you can put your hands on Dr. Chuck Missler’s (“rocket scientist”), or Lee Feldick’s (rancher) study of Proverbs 3, you will be delighted when you learn what some of the phrases mean. One must go back to the Hebrew and the Greek to obtain a proper understanding. Such Bible study in small groups of five to ten produces the best in personal Christian growth. As Christians, Proverbs 3 should lift our hearts and souls for God’s glory (why we are here in the first place); and should lift us to service – even political service for our Lord, and King.

Proverbs 3 (KJV)
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of
thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than
fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared
unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the
heavens.
20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall
be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do
it.
28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it
by thee.
29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Remember as you journey to different books of the Bible:
2 Timothy 3: 16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Another awesome place for understanding of how our lives should be lived in love and hope is the following, Deuteronomy 6 . . .

Deuteronomy 6 (KJV) 1 – 25:
Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
(For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers.
To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the Lord hath spoken.
And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you?
Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
And the Lord shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.
And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
