A NEW DISEASE

Another person’s FB post made me think about it . . . Besides just things like 5 major spine surgeries, Rheumatoid Arthritis (both knees replaced at the same time), Fibro, Osteo, and others we won’t talk about . . . I figured out one more disease I have . . .

I have ADCD – ATTENTION DEFICIT CAREER DISORDER
– Where the OCD turn the corner of 40 years of doing ten things at once – and 99.9 % came out perfect, or close to it  (the downside is that one’s children and co-worker tend to think you are perfect, and perfect is a disease)
– one’s briefcase kept growing in size until they came out with the huge one for accountants (thankfully I figured out how to access the office computer from home, or I might be having a broken back that couldn’t be fixed with surgery)
– where I remember proudly carrying my portable computer home and back (the size of a singer sewing machine – it was a Compaq – thankfully they got smaller as I got older)
– worked all day and half of the nights while the kids slept (after cooking them dinner almost every night, and I even ate my veggies to be a good example)
– exchanged Christmas presents and talked business with the company owners I worked for at endless company social functions (that IS a social life, isn’t it? – WE DID, AFTER ALL, INVENT HAPPY HOUR when our corporate lawyers explained to us that the two martini lunch became a no-no)
– then it happened one day in my late 50’s – I noticed I had been working in circles and not getting anything done for at least eight months. Suddenly everything on my to-do list was so important it had a star next to it – and then I knew I had Attention Deficit Career Disorder
– ADCD is not a disease for the faint of heart – not for wussies
– this disease is for the OCD – Type A – Senior Citizen.

I write almost every day. I cannot help myself, I used to sneak off to lunches by myself, so I could sit there with my tuna melt and write. I am medically retired – disabled. I have a lot of free time, and a lot of pain to divert my brain from. How many of those commentaries do I actually finish each year? From 2010 forward, I have finished anywhere from zero to 12 – depending on the year.

I have decided to finish the one I started yesterday . . .  currently on its 6th re-write . . . I may set a record for re-writes with this one . . . the trick is deciding it is finished, so I can publish it.

No matter how passionate I am about a hobby, ADCD is a hobby killer. This is becoming a major concern, and not just for the writing problem.
– The dining room chairs repaint project is in its 24th month. There are 4 chairs. One chair is painted twice and finished. One chair has only one coat. One chair has 80% of one coat. One chair has zero coats of paint.
– The baby blankets project I started crocheting before the Grandgirls were born is not finished. The Grandgirls are almost 3 and 4 years old.
– The switching over from the old address book to the new address book project is not finished. It began only about eight months ago. The new book is completed for A through H. (I said I wanted a new one, and my husband gifted me with one much nicer than I would have ever bought for myself.) The old book has pages not torn out yet of I through Z.
– The making of the My Favorite Recipes Little Black Book project (for my son to inherit) is not finished. I started on it about 3 years ago. I took one of my lovely old black cloth Day-Timers (from the 80’s?) and put recipe tabs and a lot of blank pages for adding recipes. To date I have transferred about 30 recipes from various recipe cards dating back to the 70’s. The rest of them, maybe fifty, are in a brown photo box waiting to be written into my treasured old Day-Timer.

You get the picture? There are many, many more for this list, but I cannot recall what they are for I have hidden them from my sight. Seeing them every day, out in the open would just remind me of how many there are. All 6 of my desk drawers are letter size file drawers. Four of them are filled with writing I have not yet finished or shredded.

Over the years, I have filled up at least 3 or 4 leaf bags with my endless writing. I have burnt up the motors in 3 shredders. I remember shredding the one and only book I have written. Upon re-reading it only five years later, I was mortified at how ignorant I had been just five years earlier regarding Politics and Religion. I figured if it was not polite to talk about them, I could at least write about them.

If we are truly learning something new each day, my written works were bound to be obsolete at some point. I have found the fallacy in that thought process. Once we become well learned and mature in those two subjects, our basic views do not change very much in substance. I am thankful and proud to have come to maturity – now, I wish, and wish, and wish I were capable of finishing every essay I begin. Getting stuck in perpetual re-write is one aspect of my own special disease that I have discovered – ADCD. I thought it would be the one disease to be cured when my medical retirement became unavoidable. But alas, it is as incurable as any of my other diagnoses. I might as well get used to Attention Deficit Career Disorder, or perhaps rename it ADRHD Attention Deficit Retired Hobby Disorder. Every time you see a published commentary from me, know that it is a VICTORY in my ADRHD life.

40th Anniversary Leaving Vietnam

40th Anniversary Leaving Vietnam

Only the Baby Boomers will never forget. Our children already do not understand – even those that served in the Middle East cannot relate to the war we fought in the Jungles of Vietnam in a time when we could actually name the enemies within and outside America. The men of the Baby Boom generation that everyone wants to forget is the disabled veteran of Vietnam. I do remember my brother and my friends sacrifice, and I thank them for that. I also remember the men that came home and turned to drugs because the nation they fought for – often being drafted to do so – treated them so badly when they came home. Most of us will never forget, but when we die, our memories of the boys the American politician sent to war, not to win by device, who were often abandoned by their wives even, will die with us. I still feel the pain in my heart for the shame America should have felt for what we did to the boys we sent to Vietnam. I am thankful to be married to a Vietnam disabled veteran – a Marine for life – wonderful husband and father. I cannot deny that Vietnam is part of making him the most honorable man I have ever met.

Just Another Rhetorical Device

Just Another Rhetorical Device

Nobody is this stupid. This weasel uses ridiculous rants to appeal to ignorant minds with rhetorical devices. The whole gun argument is based on a misplaced burden of proof – and thereby inflicting harmful laws on the good and decent American. Rand Paul states correctly: Call me if any of your gun proposals would have saved the children who were murdered. Rand correctly states the truth.

A COMMENTARY FOR EASTER

As a Christian American –

If we each seek to do good things in our little space in time –

And we allow big things to happen in America’s big space in time –

And those big things are ruses to rob, and enslave our children –

Will we be guilty of the death of Liberty in America?

Will we be guilty of the death of Christianity in America?

Will we be guilty of a bad fate for our offspring?

Are we sure that we will not be as responsible as those who are inflicting the actual harm / evil?

We each have different God given talents to be used for God’s glory. How have you used your talents?

When the Lord left us, he did not leave us to our own devices. He left us His Holy Spirit, and His Words given to mankind by the Holy Spirit. What we are each doing here in America is not a mere test. We have only one shot at getting our lives right. Just as the nails pained our Lord who did not have to suffer human reality for our sake, when we choose to neglect or abandon our faith in Him and His Holy Words, we condemn ourselves to constantly seek fulfillment that will not come to us any other way.

The overwhelming evidence of His Creation becomes ever more evident with each new scientific discovery. Man should not have thought the earth is flat, for the scriptures tell us differently: Isaiah 40:22 “[It is] He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.” We didn’t need a scientist to tell us that there are more than three dimensions, for the scriptures tell us so: Ephesians 3:18 “May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height.” Even if we could not read His Words, He expects us to know Him by His Creation.

In these modern scientific times, it is a willful, stubbornness that refuses to recognize His Supernatural Creation in so many discoveries such as our intricate DNA. It has been said in similar words many times, the complexities of a single human cell could be no more random than the workings of a simple watch. You could put the components of a watch in a bowl, and leave them there for your entire life, and they will not come together and make a watch. What kind of arrogance has man fallen into that he stubbornly denies super-intelligent creation, and prefers to believe we were made by a random accident? The kind of arrogance is such that modern man and woman doesn’t want to believe anything they want to do is sinful, and that it is up to men to decide, instead of what God has already decided. If men decide, then the biggest thug on the block / city / state /nation will be doing the deciding for us. God’s Supreme laws will be ignored, and man’s laws will change as often as the wind.

With each moment of each human wandering into death without God, a glimmer of true innocence and joy in the world of humans blinks out of existence. The evil that grows upon the nations of the earth is a direct effect of the cause of: unrighteousness masquerading as righteousness; of filth masquerading as wholesomeness; of the errant church masquerading as the Body of Christ; and of evil masquerading as good – and all of this errant cause grows more stubbornly planted among men each day.

There are men that cry “God is only an illusion man has held.” In our souls, if we search deep, we know that human death is the beginning of new life as promised by God, or a new death. Either choice is the result of our individual free will.

Our reasons for marriage, children, and endeavor all change with baptism of the Holy Spirit. As humans, we are not perfect, but as a child of the Lord, we are able to feel humility, shame, and repentance for those things we do from fear, anger, lust, and greed. Instead of a decaying world, we were meant for true hope and change that the Lord brings to our lives individually; for the Lord IS the spirit of truth, justice, love, peace, and JOY.

How is it that when America was strong in her Christianity, multitudes in the world looked to emulate America because of the goodness and bounty of her citizens. Immigrants used to come here and be proud to become American citizens, and meld into America’s Christian culture. My own mother did not teach me how to speak the beautiful Castilian Spanish she spoke, because she wanted her children to be Americans. Now, the world grows to hate Americans more each year because what they see is a government more corrupted with each passing decade; and a people largely preoccupied with sin, which is the result of America’s luke-warm treatment of her Christian faith.

I pray that this Easter Americans remember the Gospel regarding Jesus Christ, and rejoice in the fact of His resurrection. Americans need to remember who we are: Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.”

Today’s FB post of interest:

Now . . . bear with me . . . I received a commentary from a pastor, and I read the following article, which inspired my response. If you have a faint heart this is not for you! (but it is – sadly)
PASTOR COMMENTARY:
Revelation 13:17 speaks of the mark of the beast — commonly known these days as the Antichrist: “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Often prophecy is revealed a layer at a time, seemingly to give God’s people more understanding of what is about to come.
The tiny island of Cyprus may well serve as a modern petri dish for what could happen under a “beast” empire. The European Union has required Cyprus to shut down its state-owned bank and raid 40% of accounts above $130,000 to raise about $5.5 billion in exchange for a $13 billion bailout. Leading up to the deal, Cypriots were only allowed $130 per day in bank withdrawals.
Cyprus is divided into two parts — one is recognized by the United Nations as a “democratic republic” and the other part is recognized by only Turkey. UN peacekeepers provide a buffer between the Muslim and Christian sides. The Communist party controls the politics in Cyprus.
Cyprus is a popular destination for “Arab” visitors. Sex trafficking and slavery are a problem in Cyprus, according to the U.S. State Department Trafficking in Persons report. It is also considered a “Casino” economy. In other words, Cyprus, like the United States, is in a fallen moral condition as well as a debt-ridden economic state.
The Cyprus national debt is $21 billion, or about $18,000 per person living in Cyprus.
In comparison, the U.S. National Debt is $16.7 TRILLION. With interest, it is $59.2 TRILLION, which is $187,645 per taxpayer. This, according to U.S. Debt Clock, which obtains its figures via the US Department of Treasury.
If the European Union is willing to confiscate bank accounts over $18,000 of debt for every person living in Cyprus, what would the occupant of the Oval Office be willing to do over $187,645 in debt from each taxpayer — 10 times the amount in Cyprus? The US is a large reflection of Cyprus–a tax and spend socialist government and moral decay combining for a “beast”-type government takeover.
The EU action in Cyprus should serve as a stiff warning to all of what a powerful government can do when the people are unable and/or unwilling to defend themselves against it. For example, Cyprus has the same gun policy that the federal government is proposing in America — gun owners must be licensed and prove a genuine reason to possess a gun. The Cyprus population is essentially disarmed. It had no will nor ability to prevent the EU action.
While we cannot stop the march of prophecy, we can determine our place in it. As the people of Cyprus have determined their place in the EU, the citizens of America can look at this example and decide — beast submission or self-determination.
Best decide before it’s too late.
Bill Wilson — Pastor
===========================
I read several articles all over the place. This one is spot on . . .
http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2013/3/21_Sinclair_-_Lagardes_IMF_Disaster_Forces_Bernanke_Out_Of_Fed.html

==========================
AND SO I WRITE . . . (because I am always able to talk about the elephant in the room . . .)
It is even more devastating in the immediate. What Bernanke and our leaders have done is make the American depositor believe it will all work out . . . ie. Bank deposits are up . . . stock market is up. Americans believing that their deposits are safe – but it is all smoke and mirrors. Those gullible in America (those same people with their head in the sand – about 250 million), because of this stunt by the IMF (which is based in Washington), Americans will start pulling their money out of the banks and the stock market . . . thus making all the quantitative easing smoke and mirrors null and void. To me this means that everything is accelerating. We could wake up in the middle of a huge disaster any day now, when internationally they are not dumping the dollar discreetly any more – it will be an international dump coupled with Americans pulling money – which will shut the central banks down – and our currency will be dead in the water. Americans would panic. Blood will be shed.
All the pretty Americans are preoccupied with the rotten Supremes and Gay Marriage, while the other hand has sold America out. Russia is behind what happened in Cyprus – that is why they are saying Russia is winning this battle in the war. Bernanke wants out before it all collapses around him. He has played HIGH stakes poker with our stock market and dollar – went “all in” – and lost.
What Pastor Wilson is describing from prophecy is already a done deal.
I don’t see any reason to believe the banks will keep functioning for long.
The Emperor has no clothes – and suddenly everyone will admit it – and the illusion
of hope that we can work out saving the dollar will be gone. Russia, China, Iran . . . how long is the list of our enemies who are working together to see the end of the petro-dollar – thus the American dollar. Masses will quickly sell their souls for a bowl of mush, when the price of a bowl of mush is suddenly $200, and the banks have closed to the general public – but open for those who will say or do anything to be fed. War? Hmmmmmm Those that hate us outnumber us in such large numbers, and our open borders by land and by sea and by air . . . we will fight, and there will be no place to hide with today’s technology. This is what happens to a Godless nation – it becomes irrelevant – not even to be found in the Bible prophecy of what is to come.
I thank the Lord for each day of peace with my family. If I could take our young (kids and grandkids) away from this place that no longer resembles the America I grew up in, I would do it in a heartbeat. But we cannot run from reality, even if we are too old and disabled to be a viable force. God help us all – the wise and the ignorant. I will not be afraid, for I expect the Lord to take us up soon.
=========================
I understand that my response came from pure emotion, coupled with facts presented. It is a possibility. We are the watchmen . . . we were told to pay attention, and we do . . . it is just that it seems that there is too much bad stuff happening right now . . . where it leads I cannot tell you for certain . . . I have a crystal ball – but it has never been anything but a large pretty bauble on the bookshelf. I set out to understand the Bible, the world and money, history, science . . . and now I wish I didn’t. Did I tell you about the toy ponies I bought the Grandgirls for Easter?
