All God’s children have problems; it is how we deal with life’s problems that separate the Mature Christian from the Luke-warm Christian, or the “Milk” Christian – and even the hypocrite. We are watching a major attack, by the enemy within, on Christianity by way of A & E regarding Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty. Not only did A & E attack our Christian Faith, but also attacked our First Amendment, freedom of speech rights – a double whammy of astronomical proportions.
Crony Capitalism / Fascism Tendencies are running so rampant in America that the masses are having trouble remembering how Free Enterprise / True Capitalism works. A & E, as a free enterprise should not be suspending people involved in a highly successful product over their traditional Christian American ideals – especially since there is wide spread evidence that the success of Duck Dynasty is equally due to the unique clean slapstick comedy, and the family Christian prayer at the end of each show. In an interview, Phil Robertson made a true statement regarding our Christian Bible and divine instruction to Christians regarding marriage. Christian Americans will prove whether or not they care about our Christian beliefs, by either continuing or discontinuing their love affair with the show.
For your reference: Mat 19:4 – 6 “And he [Jesus] answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
Across Facebook and blogs, Americans are talking about boycotting A & E, and A & E sponsors to let them know that we decide what we like to watch on our television – not the other way around. How I wish that were completely true – for if Americans were that solid in their Christian beliefs they would boycott something equally worthy of a boycott: soft porn for the sake of soft porn, and violence for the sake of violence in television programming. Sadly, there is much evidence that Americans will watch anything on the boob tube, which has resulted in the soft porn and violence that our children most often have access to. The fact of Duck Dynasty’s astronomical success tells me that America will enthusiastically view programs that are entertaining, rooted in Christian decency, and does not include vile language and violence.
My Christian religion tells me to love all of God’s creation, even unto my enemy – but to not embrace strange (other) cultures as my own. Americans are on the brink of returning to the understanding that their faith must grow to maturity, which does entail effort in making conscious choices every moment of every day. Time will tell if America turns to a revival of our founding Judeo/Christian values . . . or not.
America’s problems are not only stemmed in the television, but also in many “fad” Christian churches. Too many churches make their congregations’ way too comfortable with their sins, erroneously thinking that tolerance of evil is the way to success. In accepting this premise, Christian churches are turning their back on The Bible – God’s inerrant word, given to man via the Holy Spirit – in hopes of gaining members for their church. Without salvation – without redemption – without God’s word – the church is no longer truly Christian. When I was a girl (ahem, many years ago) the churches in my hometown taught that a Christian, once they believed in the Gospel regarding Jesus Christ, and now feeling the Holy Spirit in them, would naturally embrace a life rooted in either the church or in marriage, family, and children. Such a moral code for humans that has proven over millennium to be the catalyst for healthy society. I ask A & E — Why would you not desire our children to be exposed to the ideal that God made us male and female, to join as one, produce children of our union, and that the family unit should be nurtured to last a lifetime. It has proven to be the maximum of human experience for thousands of years. How does anyone deny that? How does anyone think that this ideal is wrong in any way? To state that this is my belief is to be human, and is in no way hate speech.
During some of the candid conversations on the television (and in comments to popular commentaries) the last few days, I have been highly offended at some opinions. I heard someone making fun of my Lord and Savior because the Bible says my God is a jealous God, and we will not worship other gods. Do people who talk in front of cameras give any long term thought process to what they say – or does crap just shoot out of most of their mouths?
Let me ask those with such an opinion to consider this . . . your eight year old son starts calling the babysitter Mama, and her punk boyfriend Daddy. You tell your child that is not right, that you are his Mamma. He is relentless and even wants to go home with the baby sitter. You reason with this child for months, and he is just not happy with you. He asks you to prove you are his parent. You just say, well I gave birth to you! He isn’t buying it! You created that child, and he does not recognize you as his Earthly creator / parent. After this goes on for a year, some wacko judge (probably in the extreme NE or NW of the country) gives custody of your child to the babysitter and her punk boyfriend, stating that it is in the child’s best interest that he be allowed to believe what he will. Are you not jealous that the false parent has claimed your child, and your child is convinced that you did not create him? We are certainly feeling possessive of the children we create – and righteous possession requires we feel jealous when our child is stolen from us. I find it odd that I heard this same ridicule of my God several times in a few days – which reeks of agenda. I promise you that once the enemy within have completed the takeover of America, taking America’s children from their parents will not be uncommon. Look up some recent stories regarding parental rights and Boston Children’s Hospital to see how such a trend begins.
As for me, I will stand with the Lord. That means today and tomorrow, in private and public, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health . . . God Bless the Robertson’s for taking a firm stance for their beliefs. Mr. Robertson’s family cannot see making any new shows without their patriarch, and their Christian faith. I applaud them, and commend them for their Christian beliefs.
It matters not that whether or not we know the exact real date that Jesus Christ was born; what is important is that He was born, chose to die on a cross to seal in the most public and believable way – the shedding of His life-blood – as payment for my life by way of His salvation – He rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds of people – and ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for me. It matters that we celebrate the fact of His glorious birth, and that we exist for His glory. I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. God Bless us, one and all . . .

The deep roots of America’s Christianity is even well documented in our traditional songs . . . no wonder the enemy within works so hard to not allow our children to sing Christmas Carols in OUR schools. I cannot imagine my childhood without Christmas Carols.
